Chris Biddle is a journalist, editor and publisher specialising in the agricultural, turfcare, sports, garden and outdoor power equipment markets.
After a spell working for Ford Tractors (now Case New Holland) in the 1960s as a demonstrator in the UK and Europe, he joined the family owned farm and grass machinery dealer, A Brewer & Co based at Wilton, near Salisbury with branches in Somerset, Dorset and Devon, becoming Managing Director of the branch network.
After ownership of the company changed, he decided to pursue his interest in journalism and launched his first magazine, then called Garden Machinery Retailer in 1988, subsequently renamed Service Dealer.
In 1998, he launched Turf Professional (Turf Pro) magazine for golf greenkeepers and groundsmen responsible for the upkeep of the UK's sporting venues.
The production of Service Dealer and Turf Pro magazines was contracted to Wallingford-based The Ad Plain in 2013, and in 2015 Chris sold the magazines to Duncan Murray-Clarke, md of the Ad Plain. He remains as Consultant Editor.
He wrote a book, The Budding Legacy in 2015. It traces the history of the inventor of the lawnmower, Edwin Budding, and the subsequent use of mowing equipment across the world
